That vision became Kayy's Luxury Scents—a brand centered on creating candles that bring comfort, confidence, and ambiance into homes through thoughtfully crafted fragrance.
Today, Katina continues to guide the growth of KLS with a focus on craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail. About Kayy’s Luxury Scents
My name is Katina Sturgies, owner of Kayy’s Luxury Scents, also known as KLS. KLS is a luxury candle brand created from passion, perseverance, family, and purpose. As a single mother of three sons and proud grandmother to my grandson, E’Meir, born on June 22, my journey has always been rooted in responsibility, dedication, and love.
I began working at the age of 16, starting my first job at Ponderosa. From there, I entered the caregiving field, where I have continued to serve others since 2002. For as long as I can remember, hard work has been a part of my life. Today, I work full-time caring for my mother while also working full-time at the hospital on weekends.
Throughout my life, I have always had a deep love for candles, books, and photography. I once dreamed of becoming a teacher or a wedding planner, but after years of long work hours and putting others first, I decided it was time to invest in myself and pursue something that truly inspired me.
That passion led me to candle making.
As someone who has always loved buying candles, I began to wonder why I could not create my own eco-friendly candles — both for personal use and for others to enjoy. What began as an idea quickly became a serious investment of time, money, research, and commitment. I purchased supplies, studied books, asked questions, tested products, and worked hard to gain the knowledge and skill needed to create quality candles.
I started my candle-making journey in August 2025. Since then, I have experienced many trials, mistakes, and lessons. I made candles that failed, researched more, tested again, and continued improving because I wanted my products to reflect the standard and quality of my brand. Nearly a year later, I am confident in my craft and proud of the dedication I have poured into Kayy’s Luxury Scents.
KLS is inspired by my family, my children, my mother, and my beloved brother, Harold J. Sturgies, who passed away on March 3 due to health issues. His memory continues to motivate me and remind me to keep moving forward. Alongside my mother and children, he is one of the reasons I am building this brand. Rest in peace, Harold. I love you, bro. Your name will live on — I promise you that.
Kayy’s Luxury Scents currently offers luxury candles and wax melts, beginning with our signature collection of three scents. Soon, we will add two additional scents to the signature collection, followed by a fruity fragrance collection designed for both men and women. These will not be ordinary fruit-scented candles. They will be sweet, mature, elegant, and luxuriously crafted for customers who appreciate high-quality fragrance experiences.
The vision for Kayy’s Luxury Scents continues to grow. In the future, I plan to open a physical store where we will offer candle-making classes and expand our product line to include luxury room sprays, body sprays, and body butters created to complement every candle scent we carry.
Kayy’s Luxury Scents represents hard work, faith, passion, love, loss, and determination. This brand is more than candles — it is a reflection of my story, my growth, my family, and my dream becoming reality.
